Rescue Dogs Match.

Fundraising Donation | Article by: Cindy Cherry

Brenda Dobranski is the founder of this organization.  She is personal friends with my best friend Carla, who is mentioned throughout this website in having her ear to the ground when it comes to knowing the rescue world out there.  Brenda was responsible for rescuing Lana, known as the Saddest Dog in the World.

Her story went viral, and was even mentioned on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. (a foster parent in her own right, who has come under scrutiny herself about her passion for dogs).   Lana’s story is quite the saga.  The reader’s digest version of this drama is that she was rescued, adopted out, then returned, to then go into another state of depression, adopt out, then returned again. Happily, on May 17, 2017 she found her forever home on a farm in Ontario.  Her adopted family understand her special needs and gives her the love and attention she so rightly deserves. Her story and pictures touched so many people that yes, Rescue Dog Match did receive a lot of donations due to this story.   Because of this wide publicity, she then fell into the abyss of Facebook scrutiny, and criticism.

I am not judge and jury on this issue, but as the President of Don Cherry’s Pet Rescue Foundation it hit home to me on how perception, public opinion, friends, etc., can change in an instant.  I am only asking the people that are reading this, please when you read something, please remember there are always two sides of the story.  Do not be too quick to judge.  I can say this due to my personal experience of having a Dad in the public eye.  People call me a skeptic, which I have no problem with, if that means that I am not gullible.
