www.bigonbeagles.ca, AKA B.O.B. is one of those breed specific organizations. The founder Marna Gale, as with most passionate people that start up a rescue foundation, her passion started with one dog that she fostered and then adopted called Darwin. You see this as a common denominator with a lot of these founders. I, Cindy Cherry was first introduced to rescue by adopting my beloved Lucy. She was my inspiration to start up DCPRF. click here for her story.
B.O.B.is a Toronto based assistance agency for aging beagles experiencing troubled times. As with most rescue groups they don’t get any government funding like the city pounds and some humane societies do. They rely heavily on fundraising events, which is how they came into contact with DCPRF. A Rockem Sockem framed print, can raise upwards to $400. B.O.B.’s website is very entertaining. They are not blinded to the fact that beagles are not for everyone. For instance they have a whole FAQ on whether to Beagle or Not to Beagle. The 10 Canine Commandments is quite enlightening, along with their “Rules for Non-Pet Owners Who Visit “. Click here to put a smile on your face.
Marna did a great interview about the worries she had when our Canadian Miss P Beagle won Best in Show at the Westminster Dog Show in 2015. As with all conscientious lovers of certain breeds we all have the fear of the “Dalmatian Effect”, Click here for the interview.
We here are proud to be associated with Marna and her great organization and if you would like for us to continue this kind of support please click here
