Some would say why sell pet treats in hardware store. Bryan Green owner of Simply Pets knew if you told the story to shoppers about the quality of these treats in the fact that they are made in Canada with natural ingredients, and part of the sale would go back to an animal rescue organization, the public would respond.
Now he just had to convince the franchisee owners the merit in this logic. It is a known fact that Home Hardware prides themselves in the time they take to get to know their customers and help them with their purchases and this is what Simply Pets was counting on. Tell the story and all would benefit.
We here at the Foundation also see the potential and accompany the Simply Pets’ sale staff, along with the manufacturer Peter Kaufman owner of Buddy’s Kitchen, to Home Hardware’s annual Trade Show. It is here where decisions are made on whether you will find these treats in the stores or not. The more open-minded owners do see the benefit, for many say their customers even bring in their dogs into the store.
